Fantasy, Anthropomorphic, Traditional, Business, or Cartoon Illustration/Comic Art Rate Card

Ask about special discount rates for not-for-profit organizations (you will be required to submit writtten proof of non-profit status to be eligible for the discount).

In the field of illustration for the private individual or the business, the following rate card goes for both type of clients.  Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios is a specialist in anthropomorphic fantasy art but works in all literary genres and prides itself on being able to translate the requirements of the client to the paper.

All Son of Earth artwork is rendered on 148 lb. bristol board, and all graphite or colored pencil art is fixed with a spray fixative to prevent it from smudging or developing a waxy bloom.

*Add a $5.00 additional fee for standard 8 1/2" x 11" document size.

Fees for additional characters in a drawing (for all media)

8" x 10" or 8 1/2" x 11"- $5.00

11" x 14" - $10.00

16" x20" - $15.00

All artwork is completely rendered by hand.

On 8 " x 10", please limit to two characters.  On 11" x 14", please limit to three characters.  On 16 " x 20 ", please limit to four characters.  This is to prevent crowding of the composition and maintain quality of the piece.

For an extra fee, custom matting or framing is offered.  Please email Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios for a quote, since that will be based on the client's personal specifications and the size of the piece.

Animation Cel Paintings

10 1/2" x 12 1/2" (12 Field) full-color paintings done on acetate done in the traditional animation style.

For additional characters, add $10.00/character.

Caricature Artist Services

Individual Caricatures- (all rates are per face)

All caricatures are rendered in marker (for black and white) and Prismacolor Color Sticks (for color).

Caricature Artist's Services for any kind of function or event, large or small.

$60.00 to $125.00/hour (minimum of 3 hours required to book artist). Caricature artist services are offered statewide. Any out-of-state event will incur travel expenses payable to the artist on top of the hourly fee. You may contract this service either with Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios directly or through the artist's agents:

Art Lessons

$25.00/hour per individual student.  Private or small group (3 or less) art lessons in all aspects of the visual arts for students ages eight and over. Art lessons are usually given only in the Charlottesville/Albemarle/Fluvanna region; however, plesae do not hesitate to ask about the possibilities of travel to other areas of the state. Please, absolutely no international clients due to the possibilities of fraud unless student is already a resident of Virginia and can provide proof of such.

Audio Consulting Services

$40.00/hour for consulting on setting up audio equipment for sound support for any sized function space such as auditoriums, church sanctuaries, and the like for speaking functions to full-scale live music. Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios does not sell sound equipment, so there will be no hard-sell on any specific brand name of equipment. Installation is a separate fee per hour and depends on the space size and the amount of equipment purchased by the client. Please, ask about discounted rates for not-for-profit organizations.

Coloring Pages

$25.00 for a high-quality pen and ink line 8 1/2" x 11" drawing of your clown or other type of character that can be given away as a premium to kids at parties or other types of events.

Add $15.00 for a border or suitable hand-drawn or computer-generated text that you would like to embellish your coloring page.

Package Rates for Multiple Coloring Pages

2 to 3 pages- $25.00 for the first, $10.00 for subsequent pages

4 or more- $25.00 for the first, $5.00 for the subsequent pages

Graphic Design Services

Traditional, Digital, or Tradigital (using traditional and computer techniques in tandem)

Tradigital Illustration- combining the best of hand-drawn art with digital coloring

Tradigital art is a hand-drawn comic-style inked illustration (any genre) colored on a computer using applications designed with this kind of service in mind.  Son of Earth, Ltd. Studio's house style for this kind of art is reminiscent of an animation cel.  All tradigital illustration will be rendered at 300 dpi or above, so it prints out with the highest of quality.  All prints are made on 8 1/2" x 11" photo style paper with a soft glossy finish.  Please do not hesitate to ask about prints of a larger size or have them matted or framed.

Legal Notices and Payment Requirements

Rates are effective as of 19th November 2006.  Studio reserves the right to change rates or requirements without notice.

Not-for-profit organizations and groups are eligible for discount rates with written proof of non-profit status (do not hesitate to ask about such non-profit discounts).

Patrick Robbins does not and will not take any commissions that involve characters engaging in any activity that is sexual in nature.

All invoices must be paid in full within 10 business days of the date on the invoice.

Any commission involving a quick-turnaround (5 business days or less) will incur a 20% surcharge. Overnight shipping will be $18.00.

All projects $50.00 and under require full payment, up front. All projects over the rate of $51.00 require a 50% deposit. Deposits are non-refundable. All pre-paid services are non-refundable; however, if a project is not completed within one (1) calendar year, a 50% refund will be forwarded to the client.

Patrick Robbins will not sell, lease, or openly publish any personal client information.

If a contract or purchase order has been signed or an email confirmation is made on an electronic proposal, the client has 10 business days to make a 50% payment, at least, or the project will be cancelled and cannot be proposed again for six (6) months. Failure to pay within the allowed time frame after re-proposing will result in a client not being allowed to commission the studio for one (1) full calendar year.

Patrick Robbins does not take art requests, due to lack of time, also, due to the hard fact that Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios is a business. Paid commissions are all that will be considered. Patrick Robbins will do art trades and will present gifts of art; however, commissions on the calendar will always take priority.

Studio Security Payment Procedures- Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios will not tolerate any attempts to defraud the studio. Listed below are the security procedures that will be strigently followed.

Please, all payments must be made through regular PayPal or PayPal Credit, commercially-pre-printed personal or business/company checks drawn on a United States' bank (work will not begin until check successfully clears), or money orders issued by a United States' bank or by the United States Postal Service or a reputable U. S. backer of money orders such as American Express or Western Union. Patrick Robbins will not accept starter checks or checks printed on a home printer even if a U. S. bank is listed on the check. Patrick Robbins will not accept cashier's checks (even if the check is drawn on a U. S. bank) for payment, due to the possibility of fraud. Any payment sent to the studio that is suspected of being fraudulent will not be cashed or deposited and will be immediately forwarded for investigation by local, state, or Federal authorities.

International clients must pay for services rendered through PayPal, exclusively. Any other forms of payment will never be considered. There will be no exceptions.

Any requests to transfer any monies from a fee paid to Son of Earth, Ltd. Studios to cover any expenses, such as travel or any other expenses that should already have been taken care of by the client will be refused and turned over for investigation.

If any client will not divulge any personal information such as a traceable name or address during the proposal process, the proposal will be considered fraudulent and will be immediately cancelled. The proposer will be considered a security threat to the studio, treated as spam and blocked, and reported to the proper state or Federal authorities.
